Homes for Syrians is not engaged in the provision of a Regulated Activity within the meaning of Section 66, Part 5 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012, amending paragraphs 7(1) to 7(3) of Schedule 4 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.
The relationship between Hosts and Guests is a strictly non-commercial relationship. Any additional support provided by Hosts to Guests is therefore entirely at the discretion of the Host and offered as part of the personal relationship between the parties. The Guest will not be charged either for the accommodation or for any additional support that the Host may voluntarily provide.
In addition, Homes for Syrians does not expect Hosts to be required to provide certain elements of support to Guests which, if provided as part of a commercial relationship, would constitute a Regulated Activity. Please therefore confirm that you do not require assistance with the following:
· Help or support carrying out day to day activities such as eating, drinking, washing, dressing;
· Assistance with household matters such as shopping and managing your own money.
